Tonight I was faced with the winner and the quitter within myself. I chose the winner.
I have been doing weight training in the mornings and attending cardio classes at night. Today I wasn’t able to go this morning so I did both in the afternoon immediately after each other.
The cardio class was an abs & core circuit. It was hard. It sucked. There was a moment in the middle of the workout where I seriously considered just getting up and walking out of the gym. I was telling myself it was ok to quit because “You weren’t prepared for this class to be a circuit” “you’ve just lifted weights” “you have no energy left” “I’m just not feeling it tonight”. But I chose the winner in me and stuck it out.
It might not sound like much, but on reflection I realised that it was a parallel to a lot of decisions I have made in my life where it got a bit hard and I chose to give up. So many times I’ve walked away and never come back because I was worried about other people judging me. So many times it has made me feel like a failure and that cycle has repeated over and over again.
But my mindset is different now. I’m not a quitter. I’m a winner. I push my boundaries. I’m proud of myself.
And on that note, I have posted some photos that I’m not 100% comfortable with the world seeing, and even though the changes are small (because it’s only been 6 weeks) I’m proud of the work that has gone into those changes.
When you are faced with the winner and the quitter in you, choose the winner.
